3 Minute Timer
Three minutes, counted properly. Long enough for a cup of tea to brew, short enough to wait for.
No signup. Works in any browser. A clear sound when time is up.
Tea and noodles
Black tea usually wants 3 to 5 minutes, and three is a good place to start if you take milk. Most instant noodle packets say three minutes in boiling water. Both are easy to forget once you walk away, which is where a timer earns its place.
Boxing rounds and circuits
A round in men's boxing lasts three minutes, with a minute of rest in between. Plenty of gym circuits copy that pattern: three minutes on a station, then move. Use this timer for the round and the 1 minute timer for the rest.
A three minute reset
Three minutes of slow breathing, or a walk to the kettle and back, is enough to clear your head between tasks without losing track of what you were doing.
How the timer works
- Press Start and it counts down. Change the hours, minutes or seconds first if you need a different length.
- It works from your device clock, so it stays right in a background tab, and the time left shows in the tab title.
- Pick an end sound (chime, bell, beep, gentle or silent). The full screen button puts the timer alone on the screen.
- Keeps working offline once the page has loaded. No account, nothing to install.
Frequently asked questions
How long should I brew tea?
Black tea is usually 3 to 5 minutes and green tea 2 to 3. Check the packet, set the timer, and take the bag out when it sounds.
Can I set 3 minutes 30 seconds?
Yes. Type 30 into the seconds box before you press Start.
Will it keep time if I switch tabs?
Yes. It runs from your device clock, so a background tab still finishes on time, and the time left shows in the tab title.
Is it free?
Yes, completely. No account and no download.
