Things that fit in one minute

    • A one minute talk or elevator pitch, practised out loud
    • A maths drill: how many sums can you do in 60 seconds
    • Minute-to-win-it party games
    • Rest between sets when you are training for endurance
    • A breathing break: slow breaths in and out until it sounds

    Practise speaking to time

Saying something useful in a minute is harder than it sounds. Set the timer, talk about one topic, and stop when it sounds. Do it a few times and you find out where the padding is.

    Drills in the classroom

A fixed minute makes progress easy to see: same drill, same 60 seconds, a higher score next week. If the whole room needs to see it, the classroom timer shows the time as a large shrinking disc for the board.

    How the timer works

    • Press Start and it counts down. Change the hours, minutes or seconds first if you need a different length.
    • It works from your device clock, so it stays right in a background tab, and the time left shows in the tab title.
    • Pick an end sound (chime, bell, beep, gentle or silent). The full screen button puts the timer alone on the screen.
    • Keeps working offline once the page has loaded. No account, nothing to install.

    Frequently asked questions

Is a 1 minute timer the same as 60 seconds?

Yes. It counts down from 00:01:00 to zero, then plays the end sound.

Can I run it again straight away?

Yes. Press Reset and then Start. It keeps the one minute length.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. The buttons are sized for tapping, and it runs in any modern mobile browser.

Can I put it on a projector?

Yes. Press the full screen button on the timer, or use the classroom timer for an even bigger display.
