How to read it
The big clock at the top is your own time. Each city card shows the local time there, whether it is today, tomorrow or yesterday in that city, and the gap from you: +5 H means five hours ahead of you.
Some places sit on a half hour. India is 5 hours 30 minutes ahead of UTC, so the gap shows the minutes too, for example +4:30 H from London in summer.
Daylight saving is already applied
Clocks change on different dates in different places. The US changes on the second Sunday in March and the first Sunday in November. The UK and the rest of Europe change on the last Sunday in March and the last Sunday in October.
So for a few weeks each spring and autumn, London is 4 hours ahead of New York instead of the usual 5. The world clock uses your browser's time zone data, so those shifts are already in the times you see.
Finding a time for a call
Look for the hours where both sides are between about 9am and 5pm. London and New York usually share three of them: 2pm to 5pm in London, which is 9am to noon in New York. London and Sydney do not overlap in normal working hours at all, so one side has to start early or stay late.
On the homepage, you can also type "what time is it in Lisbon" or "what is the time difference between Paris and Chicago" into the assistant.
Frequently asked questions
Where does the time come from?
From your device's clock, converted to each city's time zone using the time zone data built into your browser.
Why does a city say Tomorrow?
It has already passed midnight there. Tokyo and Sydney are ahead of Europe and the Americas, so on a European or American evening it is usually already tomorrow there.
Does it handle daylight saving time?
Yes. Each zone's daylight saving rules are applied automatically, including the weeks when the US and Europe are out of step.
Can I add my own cities?
Not yet. The cards show 16 major cities and the list underneath covers more than 60 others. Click any name in the list to see its time.
How does it know where I am?
The place name under the main clock is a rough guess from your IP address, looked up with ipapi.co. It is only a label. The time itself always comes from your device.
