About The Clock

Why I built it
Time is the one thing you cannot get more of, so the tools that measure it should be quick and out of the way. The aim of The Clock is simple timing tools that anyone can open and use straight away.
I built it because the online timer and stopwatch sites I tried were cluttered with adverts, wanted a sign-up, or were fiddly for something you use ten times a day. I wanted one that just works.
It is used by students running a free countdown timer while they study, people timing workouts with the stopwatch, and teams booking meetings across time zones with the world clock.
What is different about it
An assistant that sets timers
The built-in assistant understands plain requests. Type "set a 25 minute timer" or "what time is it in Tokyo?" and it does it, without you touching the settings.
Fast to load
The Clock loads quickly and runs smoothly on any device. There is nothing to download: this online clock app works in your browser on a computer, tablet or phone.
Private by default
There is no sign-up and no personal data to hand over. Your timer presets and settings are stored in your own browser.

The tools
Online Timer
The countdown timer covers work sessions, cooking, workouts and more. It has quick presets (Pomodoro, breaks), custom times, a choice of end sounds, and you can save the timers you use most. As a free timer for meetings it keeps the team on schedule.
Stopwatch
The online stopwatch measures elapsed time accurately. Use it for runs, workouts, races or anything else you need to time. It records laps and split times, and you can copy and share the results.
World Clock
See the current time in cities around the world with the world clock. Useful for remote teams, travellers and anyone who works across time zones. Add several cities and see them all at once.
Alarm Clock
Set an alarm for any time and pick its sound. It still goes off when the tab is in the background, as long as the browser stays open.
Event Countdown
Count down to holidays, birthdays, trips and deadlines. The countdown timer shows the days, hours, minutes and seconds left, with a background picture to match the event if you want one.
