The 7 minute workout
The 7 minute workout comes from a 2013 article in ACSM's Health & Fitness Journal by Brett Klika and Chris Jordan. It is 12 bodyweight exercises, each done for 30 seconds with about 10 seconds of rest between:
Jumping jacks, wall sit, push-ups, crunches, step-ups onto a chair, squats, triceps dips on a chair, plank, high knees, lunges, push-up with rotation, side plank.
Done strictly, that adds up to 7 minutes 50 seconds. Keep the rests short and finish on the seven, or type 50 into the seconds box before you start.
Jammy eggs
Lower a large egg, straight from the fridge, into water that is already boiling and give it about 7 minutes for a set white and a soft, jammy yolk. Move it into cold water as soon as the timer goes so it stops cooking. Six minutes gives a runnier yolk, and the 8 minute timer a firmer one.

Frequently asked questions
Is the 7 minute workout really 7 minutes?
Close. Twelve 30 second exercises with 10 second rests come to 7 minutes 50 seconds. Shorten the rests, or set 7 minutes 50 seconds on the timer.
How long do I boil an egg for a jammy yolk?
About 7 minutes for a large egg from the fridge, lowered into water that is already boiling. Then cool it in cold water.
Can I pause partway?
Yes. Pause keeps the time left, and Resume carries on from there.
Does the timer keep running if my phone screen locks?
The countdown stays right, because it works from the clock, but most phones pause web pages when the screen locks, so the sound may not play until you unlock. Keep the screen on for anything important.
