50 Minute Timer
Fifty minutes of work, then ten off. A longer rhythm than Pomodoro, for work that takes time to get into.
No signup. Works in any browser. A clear sound when time is up.
The 50/10 rhythm
Work for 50 minutes and break for 10, and each block fits inside an hour on the clock. Start on the hour and your breaks always fall at ten to. It suits writing, coding and design, where 25 minute blocks can cut you off just as you settle in. Use the 10 minute timer for the break.
Other 50 minute sessions
- Many university lectures and class periods are 50 minutes long
- A therapy session is often 50 minutes, the so-called therapy hour
- A long run or ride, warm-up included
How the timer works
- Press Start and it counts down. Change the hours, minutes or seconds first if you need a different length.
- It works from your device clock, so it stays right in a background tab, and the time left shows in the tab title.
- Pick an end sound (chime, bell, beep, gentle or silent). The full screen button puts the timer alone on the screen.
- Keeps working offline once the page has loaded. No account, nothing to install.

Why do therapy sessions last 50 minutes?
It leaves the therapist 10 minutes for notes and a break before the next client on the hour.
What happens when it reaches zero?
The end sound plays and the timer shows Time's up. Press Reset to load 50 minutes again.
Is it free?
Yes, completely, with no account.
